Elegant Dental Laboratory has made restorations in house in Brooklyn since 2007, and California practices already send us their cases. From Los Angeles, San Diego or the Bay Area, a digital scan is the fastest route: it reaches us the moment you send it, and only the finished case travels. For impressions and models, print a free prepaid UPS label, and your case travels by UPS Ground to our 7,000 sq. ft. facility at 2308 McDonald Ave. More than 35 technicians handle restorative, implant, full-arch and removable work, and we ship finished cases back at no charge.

2. UPS Brings the Case to Brooklyn
Pack the case with your signed prescription and hand it to UPS. UPS Ground takes 4 business days from the California cities in the table below. Digital scans skip the trip: send them through our Lab Portal.
3. We Ship It Back
Most restorative cases take from 5 business days in the lab, and we send them back by UPS Ground at our cost: 4 business days to Southern California, 5 to the Bay Area, Sacramento and Fresno. For a rush case, we ship faster for an added fee.

We accept STL and PLY files and connect directly with iTero, 3Shape TRIOS, Dentsply Sirona (through DS Core), Medit, Carestream, Planmeca, DEXIS, Alliedstar, Straumann, Shining 3D, ORI and Panda.
Digital scans are reviewed before production, and our team helps new practices connect their scanner. No scanner yet? Our scanner program places a new intraoral scanner in your practice, such as a 3Shape TRIOS or another major brand, free to use while you meet a monthly minimum of lab orders.

Common Questions From California Practices
Where is Elegant Dental Laboratory located?
At 2308 McDonald Ave in Brooklyn, NY 11223. We have no office in California: every case is made in house in Brooklyn, and California practices send their cases as digital scans or with our free prepaid UPS labels.
What should I put on the Rx for a California case?
Sign it and add your California license number, the date and a clear description of each restoration, with the patient's name or number and the materials you want. California law asks for a written authorization signed by the dentist to go with every order for crowns, bridges, dentures or appliances, with the date, a description of the work and the dentist's license number. Send the Rx with the case or with your digital scan.

Can a New York lab work for California dentists?
Yes. California's rule for lab work is the dentist's signed written authorization, and it does not require the lab to be in California. Every case we make for California practices is made at our lab at 2308 McDonald Ave in Brooklyn.

Do California dentures need the patient's name?
Yes, unless the patient objects. California requires every complete upper or lower denture made on a dentist's work order to carry the patient's name, or initials when the name does not fit, marked during fabrication. Put the name or initials on the Rx, and tell us if the patient has declined.

What types of cases do you support?
Zirconia, IPS e.max Press, PFM, implant restorations and custom abutments, full-arch cases, provisionals, dentures and partials, clear aligners, night guards and other orthodontic appliances.
Can I send a digital impression?
Yes. We accept STL and PLY files from all major intraoral scanners. Submit a Digital Case has the connection steps for your scanner.
What is the standard turnaround time?
Most restorative cases take from 5 business days in the lab. Shipping comes on top: UPS Ground takes 4 business days to our lab from Los Angeles, Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento and Fresno, and back 4 business days to Southern California and 5 to the Bay Area, Sacramento and Fresno, by UPS's estimate. A digital scan saves the trip to the lab. Implant crowns, custom abutments, long-span bridges and PFM on non-precious alloy take longer. Rush is decided case by case, and for a rush case we ship faster for an added fee, so call before you send it.
How much does shipping from California cost?
Nothing. Print a prepaid UPS label with the form on this page; we also send finished cases back by UPS Ground at no charge. Our drivers do not cover California; free daily pickup is for New York City and northern New Jersey.
Can I visit the lab?
Yes. Dentists are welcome at our lab at 2308 McDonald Ave in Brooklyn; call 877-335-5221 to arrange a time.
Do you work with practices outside California?
Yes. We work with practices across the United States: free daily pickup in New York City and northern New Jersey, and free UPS labels everywhere else, including Connecticut, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Massachusetts and Ohio.
