These clear splints keep teeth from closing the space that will be restored in the future, and Elegant Dental provides a variety of space maintainers, including the Band and Loop space maintainer. The space in question is kept clear by maintaining a loop bent to the opposing tooth. Wire is soldered to the band, and an acrylic pad is fitted underneath to act as a bite plate for other opposing teeth.
