Grinding, bruxing, and unprotected, high-impact damage via sports can lead to a life of pain beyond the immediate discomfort experienced. Headaches, nerve damage, difficulty eating, digesting, and a host of other interconnected consequences have the potential to decrease your patient’s quality of life, and many times your dental office is their first line of defense through the awareness of many preventative apparatuses available to them.
Splints in particular can provide daytime relief from mentally stressful activities during work, home, and other times where patients have dental discomfort. Our laboratory would ask that providers diagnose patients to make sure their grinding and bruxism is not the result of blocked airways during sleep, as we fabricate separate products for snoring. If nighttime bruxism or grinding is not the result of blocked airway passages, then the splints offered here through our laboratory will provide great relief for patients.
